Does anyone else here watch "Jericho"?

The ongoing drama series about a small town in Kansas struggling to survive following a nuclear attack had a jaw-dropper tonight when the "Robert Hawkins" character, a mysterious newcomer to town who knows ALOT more than he lets on, made the shocking discovery that his former boss at Homeland Security may be the chief architect or at least closely linked to whoever was responsible for the nuking of 20+ American cities.

The overall plotline of the series has been trending more and more towards a MIHOP/LIHOP scenario.

I would expect twoofer interest in the series to climb dramatically. Perhaps event to start regarding the fictional show as a handbook to real life, they way they do with V for Vendetta and The Matrix Trilogy.

It's unfortunate, as I rather enjoy the show myself and would hope that it's writers have better sense than to encourage these idiots and are able to come up with a better more creative plot twist than the, by now, predictable "we did it ourselves".

i don't think it's a LIHOP at all, as it seems to involve a network of terror groups with a couple insiders. it's not a vast government conspiracy-- yet!-- it's simply a vast terrorist operation headed by an isolated figure within the US government.

everyone else in the US government, thus far, has been shown to be attempting to stop the attacks. there's just one shadowy figure that was possibly involved.

of course, it could dive into a complete LIHOP, but i don't think it will. at least i hope it won't.

ETA: i watch the show as well. hawkins is such a badass i have to watch. i just want to see an episode where he kills everyone. he's such a badass he could totally do it. man, i want to be hawkins.

Hawkins is pretty good. Took away the gun, then showed him the nuke in the garage, just for good measure.

What we need to remember is, we don't really know for sure if anything he said last night was actually true :)

But now we're getting into TV topics!

heh. I saw the trailer for Shooter today, and noted the copy of the 9/11 Commision Report on the main character's table, of course he then gets tied up in a government conspriacy. Darn those Hollywood whistler blowers. First Capricorn One and now this.

There aren't many MIHOP/LIHOP theories about 9/11 that call for the involvement of everybody either. This HomeSec thing in Jericho just bugs me as being twoofer inspired.

Given the big stick in his toolshed, that would make for a very short episode. :p

Also given the "something smells rotten in Denmark" hints they've been giving about the neighboring town, we might see Hawkins and Jake with the gloves off rather soon. ;)

EDIT: Theres another twoofer element in the story that just occurred to me. Two groups of refugees in the show (Rogers friends and the USMC impersonators) have both made comments to the effect that the FEMA camps are generally rotten places to be. Despite the disarray of the federal government in the rest of the show, FEMA seems to have no problem setting up Alex Jones nightmare camps.

Are you saying that because of the 9/11 twoofers, writers can no longer develop fictional story lines that include any hint of a governmental conspiracy???

Sorry, but that's going a bit too far for my tastes...:(

I think this is more inspired by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina than anything Mr Jones ever spewed out - considering the number of cities that got nuked in the story, I would not be surprised that any emergency response would be severely overwhelmed...

Yeah, my understanding is they suck because of the lack of planning, combined with most of the good stuff being radioactive, or dust. Or radioactive dust.

When the Real Attack happens, people will be glad the NWO was planning ahead :)

No.

In fact I rather enjoyed it when it was done on Babylon 5.

It's just given the current state of the War on Terror, a fictional story of a very near future false flag attack on US soil by elements of the US government might be harmful to the overall public debate.

Imagine someone doing a fictional presentation based on jewish conspiracy theories during WW2.

Either way, I'll probably keep watching the show regardless. It's the only thing good on wednesday nights. ;)

And when does Jones factor in reality when making his predictions? ;)
