Looks like Triangleman is going to be in Calgary just prior to TAM.

Let me know who'se interested in getting together on the afternoon of Sunday, Jan 14, and we'll have a little fest!

RebeccaBradley has graciously offered to host the event.

Further details to follow!

Be there, or be square!

Hi guys! Yeah, I'll be really happy to host again - we'll get a fire going in the fireplace and just hang out. This will comfort me to a certain extent for not...sniff...being able to go to TAM myself. (Quiet sobs, bravely suppressed.) Jas, you better make it this time! :)

So far, head count is Rebecca, Rusty, Eos, Triangleman, and me.

Rebecca, I assume your delightful husband will be there too?

Jimbo, unfortunately won't be able to make it as he's studying in Saskatchewan (leave it alone, guys.....they're all too obvious), and Fitter will be on the road, driving to TAM.

Jas, picture, if you will, joining us on this auspicious occasion, and skipping work on Monday and Tuesday, while joining Rusty on his flight to Vegas. Hilarity would ensue, I'm sure.

I haven't heard from several others that I PM'd (sp?) yet, but as it sits we'll have fun! Other Alberta skeptics please join us if you can!

Further updates as they become available!

OK, as I pm'd Badger, I'm going to look into flights that weekend. I can't take additional time off work, but I could fly into Calgary Friday night/Sat morning, and then fly back to Van Sunday night. And January is a pretty good time to do that, there'll probably be seat sales (not that the prices aren't pretty cheap btwn the two places anyway.)

How late did you go last time?

It's nice to hear that things are coming together, shame you can't make it to TAM RebeccaBradley but it will be nice to meet you. :)

I had to leave early. I left at 10. I think Eos said she left at 11, and it looked like TJ and Rusty were in for a good long evening of skepticizin'.

But we started later, too....at 5. For this one I was thinking we'd get together around 1 pm (everyone has a chance to sleep in, wake up, have a coffee and a nice shower, take care of whatever needs taking care of such as children or getting the date to leave or getting the children's dates to leave or driving from Edmonton or Red Deer or wherever) and have snacks, wine, coffee, tea, and scintillating conversation all afternoon.

I have to work the next day, so will have to leave in the early evening, at the latest (6-7pm).

Thoughts?

Does this work well for you, too, Rebecca?

Hi again, guys. Yeah, Badger, Robin will be there - also, I'll see if Marie can join us. Starting at 1 pm will be great. I honestly can't remember how late the previous one finished; just that we could sit outside until the very end - which will not be an option in Calgary in January, alas! Anyway, looking forward to meeting you, Triangleman, and seeing the rest of you guys again. Cheers! Rebecca

Bump....because Albertans don't scroll all the way down.

Bump again...

Hi guys, I'm back from Blighty and looking forward to the pre-Tam Calgary get-together. That is, if you're all still coming....? Please....?

I will be there, although I won't be able to make it until sometime around five.

It turns out that day is inventory day at the store, and it's one of those 'if you don't show up then, don't bother showing up Monday' kind of things. Also, Jas told me she might not be able to make it.

Rusty is right, I don't think I can make it.

It's the last weekend for BodyWorlds, so I'm fairly certain I'm going to be working it :(

I'm still in!

I e-mailed Eos, and am waiting for confirmation. T-man, if Rusty's going to be held up until around 5 I could probably grab you from somewhere, sometime in the afternoon, and head over to Rebecca's. PM me with contact info.

Shall we go for something later in the afternoon, then? Like maybe look at hooking up around 3 or 4 and going into the early evening?

And I hold Rebecca's sentiment "Aw, Jas..."

Pizza?

Yeah, late afternoon sounds good, so Rusty doesn't have to miss the scintillating conversation, sparkling wit, and - er - beer. How about we all chip in and order some pizza? Calgary's best pizzas can be ordered from just around the corner (Demitri's - yum), and I could throw some appropriate things into a salad bowl to go with. Nice and easy. Opinions?

Oh, I miss Demitri's....

I love that they'll put entire cloves of garlic on the pizza... maybe I should call in sick?

Yeah, call in sick! But it IS BodyWorlds, and that is sooo cool-no fair. But call in sick, and come have some garlic and pizza with us!

I will do whatever it takes to get down there!

It will be so nice to see you again T-man, since I did get to hang out with you at TAM3 :)

Thank you for hosting again RB, *worships*, and I'll sob with ya, quietly, so as not to disturb the jubilant folks going to TAM.

I think I just gained 10 lbs during a serious Pizza Flashback. At work we used to order from there very often.

Mmmm, the BBQ steak pizza was good!! What was the chicken one? Chicken alfredo, or maybe its the chicken/artichoke one I'm thinking of. Anyway, the roasted garlic pizza is enough reason for you to call in sick, Jas! Please call in sick, and join us!

Rebecca, thanks again for hosting! You're the best!

Ah, the garlic....

...are we talking about the Hearty Mariner (an exotic explosion of taste, featuring baby shrimp and the exciting taste of toasted garlic, with double mozarella)...or perhaps the Exploded Garlic Vegetarian Feast (exploded garlic, artichoke hearts with black olives, tomato, green peppers, mushrooms and onions)...or perhaps the Garlic Lovers' Delight (experience the delicate taste of garlic, spinach and feta cheese)...and then, of course, there's the Chicken and Cheese Delight, which is probably the one that Badger remembers...

(Sorry, guys, just trying to tempt Jas. Entice, entice..)

So I gather the Demetris Concept finds favour? :)

Eos, so glad you can probably make it, so I won't be the only Cinderella not going to the ball. Next year in Vegas, eh?

I'm still in. Badger PM'd is contact info so I'll give him a call in the next couple of days to figure out how I'm getting there.

Forum contact will be intermittant until then, I'm at my brother's in Calgary right now and he has a really bad dial-up modem. It took at least 15 minutes to load up the JREF page and log in. :(

See you on the 14th everyone!
