CAFTA Passes with a Whimper

Anyone else notice the lack of oomph for something so watershed?

The democrats have abandoned the Clinton foreign policy. Only 15 house democrats voted for CAFTA. Bill Clinton was enough of a leader to tells the Unions and industry lobbies "tough" and pursue progressive foreign policy. Some democrats broke ranks with him over Nafta and the WTO. Some however walked in lockstep.

Now the leader has changed, these foreign policy conservatives are back to their true roots.

How dare 15 House Democrats vote for CAFTA! Like the atrocious NAFTA bill passed by that conservative in liberals clothing Clinton, we are going to look at this horrible treaty with regret in a few scant years. What is the point of being a Democrat if they blissfully go along with whatever piece of sludge the Republicans are putting forward this week?
