Birth month affects menopause

Yikes! Italian university study shows that the month a women is born influences how early or late in life she'll enter menopause.

I read that and noticed that those with October birthdays have a higher chance of hittting menapause later... like 50 years old.

I was born in October and was finished with menopause at age 45. Fortunately fairly easily too (no hormone replacement required).

This study seems to be a bit shy of geographic diversity... it was mostly women in Northern Italy. My mother's pregnancy with me started in Ft. Lewis, WA (about 50 miles from where I am now), spent time in Wisconsin, then to New York City where they got on a ship that took them to the Panama Canal Zone. I was born in Gorgas Hospital in Panama.

Perhaps they should do a study to compare menopause for women in the Southern Hemisphere and the tropics.
