Anyone got any more detail on this? I'm guessing misleading reporting, as seems to be usual with vaccine stuff, but I await the experts!

US scientists back autism link to MMR

The measles virus has been found in the guts of children with a form of autism, renewing fears over the safety of the MMR jab.

American researchers have revealed that 85 per cent of samples taken from autistic children with bowel disorders contain the virus. The strain is the same as the one used in the measles, mumps and rubella triple vaccine.

Hm, no mercury in MMR. So no causation for autism(even if mercury caused it).

The 85% may be entirely nominal.

The age given by parents for the period where their children developed norminally, and the age at which they got autism, fits entirely with how autism works. You won't be able to diagnose autism untill the child readches a certain age, which happens after the MMR vacination.

The article doesn't state the name of the study, though it does give "Dr Stephen Walker" as one of the authers.

I'll look into it at some point.

I haven't been able to find the name of the study, nor find it (by searching for the author, and then afterwards for mmr) on pubmed.

I don't know how to figure out if 85% is nominal.

Thanks for that link. Grr. why couldn't I found that information. I must learn to google better or something :D

So what percentage of samples taken from non-autistic children with and without bowel disorders contain this virus?

They didn't have a controll group, and i don't know if anyone else have studied it. But the "study" is so flawed it doesn't really matter.

It is null and void.

Agreed! This is such a classically poorly-done study, but, of course, it gets the press. Nothing like adding more fuel to the fire.
