This might well be in the wrong forum. If so, apologies.

I'm having trouble discounting my anecdotal observations of the last twenty years or so:

Racially mixed human beings are superior.

Its not about Tiger Woods, or Barrack Obama, that I say this...

Mixed-race kids are extra cute.

Mutts make the best dogs, unless you're after something very specific.

I don't think either Tiger Woods or Barack Obama owe their success to mixed race, I think they owe it to effort. I don't think mixed race kids are any cuter than uni-race kids. They're all very cute.

And I KNOW mutts aren't the "best" dogs. If all you're after is a pal, any dog will do, but for all but a pinprick of the history of dogs and humans interacting, dogs have not been "pals.' They've been work animals, and sometimes food. Dog breeds have specific qualities, hounds hunt by smell, sheep dogs have a herding instinct bred into them. Mixing these qualities is diluting them.

The most mixed-race people are the Polynesians. They're the biggest race, body-wise, but as for "better?" If your theory held true, they would be the golf champions, presidential candidates, scientists, and all the jobs now held by other-than-Polynesian.

All in all, skin color doesn't matter in my opionion. We all have quite the genetic mixtures, no matter what our skin color turns out to be. I don't think it should matter what skin color our acestors originally had.

So I have to ask: Am I not mixed race if my ancestors come from all areas of Europe, and the US, or are humans only mixed race if their ancestors come from a white skinned ancestor and a dark skinned ancestor? We have to define race then. Is race only defined by skin color, or by genetic mixture no matter what the skin color ends up being???

The tendancy to marry and procreate with people that closely resemble our 'type' is common. People whom mix that up, perhaps, show a willingness to explore; an openess to newness, and a smaller chance of inbreeding.

Is my prejudice in this regard just a new angle of racism?
