Trump has said over and over again: America first.

Dutch TV host Arjen Lubach thought: then who is going to be second? And he made a promotional video for our beautiful country, with the answer: Netherlands second!




1:15: yes, that's how we eat herring. :)
1:30: these are alternative ponies. They're actually from another pony park.
2:20: Madurodam is a miniature town with models of actual Dutch buildings, in The Hague.
2:30: Gerri Eijckhof is a parliamentary reporter.
2:40: Zwarte Piet ("Black Pete") is the assistant of Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas). We've had a couple of threads on it on this forum.
2:50: Jetta Klijnsma is Deputy Minister for Social Affairs and Employment.


When the German comedian Jan Böhmermann - (in)famous for his Erdogan libel - got wind of this, he just had to follow suit and composed his own promo video for Germany:



Moreover, he contacted other comedians and TV hosts in other European countries to follow suit. Several have already made their own video; you can find them on the website Every Second Counts. They've also set up a Twitter account ItsGreatEU.

If anything, Trump has united the world in the piss out of him.

The video is funny. They start by explaining that Brussels is indeed a hell hole and that they hate French and German speaking Belgian. But afterwards the Belgium related footage shows Brussels (i.e. Manneken-Pis and the Atomium) or the French part of Belgium (i.e. Waterloo)...

A perfect example of Belgian non-sense humor... :thumbsup:

My 82yo dad (friesian) and his wife (dutch) were laughing so hard last week saying "Losers. They are all dead now by the way! hahahahaha" as they tried to explain to me.
Now I know what they found so funny.
(My dad also reminded me for the 1000th time that his Friesian language is the closest to English. Fun fact of the day.)

And the Dutch one is seriously the best one. Seriously. The best.
