"Aliens Could Attack at Any Moment!"

IIRC when he was in the civil service, on the UFO desk or whatever it was, he was an Executive Officer, which is the first management grade, and not that senior despite the impression given by the "Daily (Hate) Mail".

Though he's been promoted since, it'll be nothing to do with UFOs. Generally, in the Civil Service you can be as bonkers as you like as long as it doesn't interfere with the running of your department....

Someone who was in charge of a UFO project believes in aliens? I'd never have suspected that without the DM to help me.

I may have uncovered the reason for his conviction:

He [Mr.Pope] has written four science fiction books drawing on his experience at the MoD, and lectures around the world on the subject.

He has appeared on BBC Newsnight and Radio 4's Today programme and has acted as consultant on numerous television documentaries.

:D

"Aliens Could Attack at Any Moment!"

Why yes, yes they could! But the Doctor will take care of it!!

Nick Pope makes an income from this prior professional appointment as a civil servant responsible for investigating UFO reports. In my opinion, he's deduced that there is more money to be made insinuating that there MAY be 'real' UFOs (Alien spacecraft) than debunking them.

He's rarely said much of any startling value, except that some of the reports that came in were a bit odd and remain unexplained.

It's true that that there is much confusion remaining over who did, said or saw things in the RAF Woodbridge Rendlesham Forest incident - "The British Roswell", and it's always held up as the ultimate example of convincing UFO evidence.

Shame, then, that Ian Ridpath has written such a convincing rebuttal:

Don't panic, we can always rely on those stalwart chaps at UNIT to defend us!
As Timble points out, Exec Officer is the lowest rung on the management ladder in the Civil Service - basically a supervisor. And during my year in the civil service I came across a lot of very odd people.

Boy, is this guy off his rocker. It's frightening he worked in high level British government for so long!

Bah. One of Germany´s top CT´ers was Secretary of Science for a couple of years.

Government services is NOT a reliable indicator of intelligence.

Wh..wh...wh...whaaat?

edited to remove previously linked story.

Statistically there has to be life other than our own, but is this guy for real?

Yup, I just got the word that they are going to abduct lots of folks.

But they are only going to take handsome and sexy, so YOU have nothing to worry about.

I'm only sending this to say good-bye.
