Ok, so I turn on the TV and it's BBC News in the morning, and two women, one a doctor and one...I'm not sure, are talking about the benefits of acupuncture for treating sleep disorders.
The thing that surprised me the most was that the doctor, Dr Sarah Jarvis was claiming that acupuncture has been shown to work for a variety of things, and that it's been shown through double blind experiments (she described the process rather crudely) that it does matter where the needles are placed, because there are certain pressure points that help whereas random spots don't.
I'm rather sceptical of this, as you can imagine, so if anyone has any details I'd love to know.
