So I've upgraded to the latest version of firefox, and I'm running Windoze 7 home premium. Whenever I type into say, a google search box, or even the box I'm typing this message into right now, it's blue.

When typing in google or yahoo I can't even see what I'm typing. This also happens on other message boards:

As you would imagine it's very frustrating typing when you can't see what you're typing.

Any ideas?

I've used Firefox for years... my screen looks like this right now when typing
in the upper box...

Way to avoid solving a problem, LSSBB.

I suspect the problem is more likely to be in the Windows settings, rather than with Firefox.

I'm not avoiding the problem. I provided a perfectly legitimate solution. I actually run multiple browsers. I'm composing this on the built-in browser for Android, and also have Dolphin and Opera on the same platform. Sometimes I fall back on IE because so many sites are optimized for it.

Sorry, it's my background in IT support. You're asked a question about Firefox, and your answer isn't to fix Firefox (which millions of people including myself use all the time without such problems), it's to leave Firefox broken and use something else instead.

I'm not familiar with Windows 7, but in earlier versions you could control the colours in text-entry boxes by using the Advanced tab of the Display Settings control panel. That's what this looks like to me. But this would mean it's independent of Firefox and would affect you even if you are using Chrome or another browser. I don't think there was a suggestion of that.

I'd need to actually take a look at more than a screenshot to know for sure.

Hmmm... I'm running the latest version of Firefox, and I don't have that particular problem*. Of course, I'm also running Vista, so that could be a factor.

Try Options-->Content-->Colors** and see what your settings are there. I notice that my colors are nonstandard due to the theme I'm using -- perhaps that's where your trouble lies.

*I hate Firefox for other reasons, but have to use it for my job.

**In Firefox, that is, not Windows.

I had the same problem. It helped when I changed the Add-on theme to BlackFox V1 Blue.

That was my first thought as well, probably a theme problem [Windows or Firefox].

Also, being obviously related, the high frequent update cycle sucks big time.
