Hello tapman,

In your opening post you state another magician has challenged Mr. Randi.
There is another magician out there that has offered Randi money to accept his challenge, and Randi has not.
Can you please offer more specifics about this? Who was the magician who challenged Mr. Randi? What were the terms and conditions of the challenge? When and where was this challenge offered to Mr. Randi? What was Mr. Randi's reply?

Thanks,
DAO

DAO - hope you don't mind. The other thread is under moderation for off topic posts, and I felt this warranted a thread to itself.

For this to be worth any amount of consideration, Jim would have needed to follow the rules of the challenge and come to an agreement on the method used, rather than demand only his "protocal." And, as I understand it, Jim has never actually applied for the challenge, but merely put up a web page.

Oh, and Jim isn't a magician. He's a "paranormalist." (No, I do not know what that means.)

Is it necessary to issue a challenge to Randi to get the money? I think Randi has said that anybody who could tell the contents of the locker would get the prize money. There would be no show involved, just an exchange of letters.

It seems to me that Callahan is reckoning that the show in itself would net him more than the money that he is losing in his challenge, and it makes him look good to say that he is also risking his own money.

From Callahan's site:
"I do well with puzzles of this type. That is what this is to me- just a puzzle. Controlling the nature of reality to one's own benefit or desire can be viewed as just that. It also may be viewed as paranormal ability I suppose. But my offer and intent is not to argue dictionary definitions."

Controlling the nature of reality to one's own benefit? Sounds like a CON-trolling for $$$$$$$$$$$.

Shhhh!

Not the Callahan thing, again. Please?

Is there a word or punctuation mark ever written by him that wasn't covered in that torturous thread?

ETA: Summary for those who missed the thread...

Callahan's a woo.
No he isn't.
Yes he is.
Is not.
Is too.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat. (800 times)

Nope he is not a woo.

Now that we have that correct I feel better.

Best Wishes,

Jim

Sorry man but that has nothing to do with this topic.

Jim

This thread is not moderated. Should a fruitful, but off-topic, discussion develop here I imagine it will simply be split off to its own thread in an appropriate forum.

EDIT: I see that such a thread already exists though. You can find it here.

Does time travel qualify for the Million Dollar challenge?

I'm a time traveller. Here's a video I took of Jim Callahan doing his act in the year 2028.

Keep practising Jim - here is your future!
