Well I am a firm believer that you should frequently question your basic premises and ask yourself “Could I be the one that is wrong?†So here is a simple thought experiment, try to pretend you are the other guy and ask this simple question:
If Al Gore had been elected and had 9/11 occur and did everything pretty much the same as Bush, including giving a huge no bid contract to a firm that Joe Lieberman used to run, would you defend him the way you do Bush? Or would Gore be subject to the same sniping from the right that Bush is from the left? What if it was Gore who couldn’t turn up the WMD’s, what do you think the Rush or Sean Hannity shows sound like?
No fair pretending he would have done it differently. Just imagine that he did the exact same things would you have the same criticisms and name calling or would you excuse his mistakes and praise his accomplishments?
