- I'm straining my brain trying to think of any liberal friends or acquaintences who pray for terrorists and not for victims of terrorism.

- HNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGG....

- Nope. Sorry, can't think of a single one. What's this cartoonist on, I wonder?

Nope. Sorry, can't think of a single one.

Try "demon" in this forum, for starters, claiming a). that terrorists in Iraq are really "freedom fighters" (so THAT'S why they kill all those Iraqis!) and b). that the beheading of innocents is really no big deal.

Then again I wouldn't describe demon as a "peace loving person" either.

Typical political editorial cartoon of any political view....overdone, simplified, uses debatable logic, designed to look at one narrow perspective only......

In other words, like the vast majority of Skeptic's Posts.....:crc:

"Then again I wouldn't describe demon as a "peace loving person either."

Yay, lets have another war based on lies.

It would be the classic strawman fallacy we all know and love.

It is, I imagine, attacking the people who don't see terrorism as a black and white issue. They are humans with motives, not merely mindless "evil-doers", where the only solution is to slaughter them all. But I doubt you'd be able to find a single person who cares more for a terrorist than his victims.

I recently read Contact by Carl Sagan (finally...it's only 20+ years old). He had a some interesting stuff to say about dehumanizing the enemy. To paraphrase one example (Ellie thinking about a newspaper headline): "When we like them, they're freedom-fighters. When we don't, they're terrorists. If we can't make up our mind yet, they're only guerillas."

What lies? You are not a peace loving person and that's my opinion, how that can be classified as a lie is beyond me.

I think you misread. Since he refers to a 'war based on lies', it seems clear to me that he isn't saying that you are lying. The 'lies' in the 'war based on lies' probably refers to the untruths that were used to justify the war in Iraq.

It seems clear to me that Demon made the comment to show how unreasonable he thinks it is to call him 'not a peace loving person' because he never advocated the war in Iraq while some people who are now calling him 'not a peace loving person' did.
