On one of the largest forums for "truthers" in my country this movie recently surfaced as the ultimate evidence of a controlled demolition. I see that this movie is from 2007 or something and that you guy's haven't discussed it for quite some time, but I hope you don't mind me bringing it up.

As mentioned by the user RKOwens (youtube.com/watch?v=jir7yWTroN8) in his videos the Hoboken Pier is right next to a train tunnel and the Hoboken Central Station, and that the sounds in the video can be noise from train or wind. This seems very natural as you hear the noise pretty often when Siegel is located at the Hoboken pier, but as he moves to the Frank Sinatra Pier "mystery sound" only is recorded right before WTC 1s collapse. The only thing I found a bit strange was that the noise was so loud, but today I came to think of something. The only video that I can find from Siegel himself, is the one he use to show 9/11 mysteries fake audio track (youtube.com/watch?v=RdzpMbV6dXw). In this video we also can hear some of the strange noises right before WTC 1s collapse, but the noise is much more silent in this video and seems to only be wind and the sound from the collapse itself. Therefore I began to wonder if the makers of 9/11 Eyewitness (which Siegel don't seem to be very proud of anymore) may have turned up the volume in their video. I also see that Siegel released a video called 9/11 Raw (with the raw footage I guess), does anyone here have access to this video and the opportunity to check if the "strange sound" is as prominent in this video as it is in 9/11 Eyewitness?

Of course Siegels video can be debunked easily by saying that cameras on Manhattan should have captured the sound, but I don't think this is an answer the "truthers" will accept.

Have a good one:)

Welcome to the forum.

While filming from Hoboken, Rick Siegel had a news radio station playing to provide a soundtrack. Sofia Shafquat, who used the footage in 9/11 Eyewitness, erased his soundtrack and added her own track including explosive sounds. This resulted in a lawsuit filed by Siegel against Shafquat, aka Smallstorm.

Hi, thanks for the welcoming!

I'm thinking of the "9/11 Eyewitness" released by Blue Star Media Group, which I think Siegel approved and was paid royalties for (maybe I'm wrong here?). That movie has the the news radio station in the background, but I think maybe the audio track (which seems to be original) is turned up because of a clip uploaded by Siegel himself had much quieter "explosions" and a much quieter collapse.

We've chewed this one over before. After spending some time scrutinizing the best version of Siegel's video I could find I concluded that it was highly likely that the sounds he recorded were wind noise. See this post for an explanation of my reasoning.

As for the prevalence of wind at the Hoboken Pier, have you ever noticed that when you're next to a large body of water during the day there is commonly a breeze blowing off the water and onto the shore? It's called an "onshore breeze" or "sea breeze" and it's a consequence of the temperature difference between land and water.

There really isn't any doubt that Sofia Shafquat added a fake soundtrack to his video.

The material Siegel captured could have been the base for a powerful film about the experience of ordinary people compelled to witness a horrific event from what was, thankfully, a position of safety. It's a bummer that instead it was dragged into a load of conspiracist rubbish.

Troofyism doesn't just assault reason, it also ruins art.

Indeed.

And your analysis of the audio was excellent, ktesibios.

Also, in the lawsuit, Shafquat even admitted that she added audio. Rick Siegel is a member here and he posted about the lawsuit as well. (It was eventually settled, by the way).

I want to add though that I still don't think that it is wind noise. There is no sudden pop like you would expect with wind noise. I also think that falling debris at the site would better account for the low sounds that are being sold as controlled demolitions.

Why has no one just compared the audio of the "explosions" to the audio of wind noise and tried to duplicate the low rumbles?

Yeah the "truthers" in my country seems to be a bit behind the rest of the truth-movement, many of them haven't heard about Niels Harrit for example. It doesn't make it easier that I'm pretty new to this whole "debunking-thing".

But back to the video. I knew that Sophia added different audio on her own release which she got sued for, but hasn't Siegel approved the 9/11 Eyewitness I'm linking to (Blue Star Media Group)? So just to have cleared this out, all of you are talking about the "9/11 Eyewitness" which have the radio station in the background?

Any details on the settlement? Or is that not something in the public record?
