2016 "Presidential Matchmaker"

Bad quiz, Bad! No biscuit!

For several of those questions there were multiple correct answers, but they allowed only one. And in at least once case my answer would have been "none of the above".

As I expected, I got Bernie. But I'm more-or-less supporting Clinton because I think she's more electable. In a perfect world, the general will be Bernie vs Cruz vs Trump.

ETA: Calling M.O'M a "contender" is a considerable stretch. "Candidate" is a better fit.

No surprise there, as a slightly right of centre Brit I got paired to the American Socialist Berne Sanders ;)

I still don't see this argument. Polls suggest otherwise, and Bernie is far from being someone that is lacking in powers of persuasion or political experience.

The socialist label is gonna drag him down like an anchor in the general. I can hear the talk radio spots now...

The really sad thing is that these are the two best candidates the Democrats have put forth. I don't really love or hate either of them, but they both have substantial baggage.

If we just had a mainstream, moderately liberal candidate who built their platform around the middle class economy, criminal justice reform, immigration and women's rights, we wouldn't even be paying attention to the Donald or that strange little religious fella.

I really wish Joe would have thrown his hat in the ring.

.

I believe that Martin O'Malley was That Guy, however, he didn't attract enough followers. During the earlier debates, O'Malley had a lit less time to speak than Clinton or Sanders. It seems to me that mainstream media prefers to showcase the more feisty candidates such as Clinton, Sanders and the Republican Four Stooges. Quieter folks like O'Malley, Kasich and Carson get less time to speak.

Of course, the Baltimore riots certainly didn't help O'Malley.

If a Democrat becomes president, perhaps O'Malley could be appointed Secretary of the Interior, or another position.

I honestly don't think anyone that would be scared by the socialist label would vote for any Democrat, including Hillary. As a matter of fact, they'll probably use the same damn term against Hillary. It's a common derogatory term in certain circles for use towards any non-republican. The only difference is that Sanders has claimed the pejorative at times and Hillary hasn't.

Seriously, how many times have you heard Obama called a socialist? I can't even begin to count.

Ok, here is another quiz: http://isidewith.com

That is genius! In the left-right axis in Argentina, I'm located between the centre and extreme right, hopefully half way or a little bit towards the centre.

According to this -and I have no reason to doubt it- I side with:

87% Jill Stein overall, mainly on domestic and foreign policy, economic, social, environmental, science, healthcare and education issues.

85% Hillary Clinton ... on domestic and foreign policy, economic, social, healthcare, environmental and science issues.

75% Gary Johnson ... on foreign policy, social, immigration and science issues.

57% Donald Trump ... on immigration, criminal, healthcare and electoral issues.

36% Darrell Castle ... on electoral issues.

I want you know what you folks get there ... and don't forget to state your country, and your left-right standing if you are not a citizen of the USA

Clinton, Sanders, and O'Malley for me. Not too surprising, though it should be noted that it was a very close call between Clinton and Sanders.

Someone should have some fun with parodies of "Matchmaker,Matchmaker" from "FIddler On the Roof" with this.

Pointless as not American, but I'm Clinton

  • China
  • Intrusive federal government
  • Radical Islamic terrorism
  • The national debt
  • Climate change
  • Nuclear weapons in the wrong hands
