i wonder BTW if TBN will fire them since they claim to be a christian tv network

and that folks who run TBN "believes" that Jesus is the son of God

Doesn't sound so bad to me - they simply are saying that jesus was the first, but opened the door for everyone so that all christians are/can be the children of god.

Thats no more crazy than "original sin"

ETA: but what caught my attention was their repeated reference to "the product" and that everyone needed to hurry up and call to buy "the product". Just a quieter, more insidious version of Billy Mays!

It's Prosperity Proselytizing. I first heard it at a church that joined TBN after I left it (in disgust), and which preached it pretty hard. It goes like this:

God is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, right?

And you, being a faithful Christian, are a Child of God, right?

Kings are prosperous people, right? Have you ever heard of a poor king, an impoverished king? Of course not!

And who ever heard of a king with poor, impoverished children? Doesn't happen. The king's children share in all his wealth, all his prosperity. In fact, the king wants his kids to be rich, and share his wealth.

So how much more would the King of All Kings want you, his Children, to share in his wealth, his prosperity? All you have to do is be faithful and make your gifts to God. Share your wealth, such as it is, with the Lord, and he will bless it, magnify it, and return it to you:

"Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure-- pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." --New American Standard Bible

Now, are you going to be stingy with God, and with the money he's already given to you? Or are you going to show your faith in God by returning to him a portion of his gifts, so that he can bless you and magnify them for you, to his greater glory?

GIVE! GIVE NOW!


...and pardon me a moment, brothers and sisters...I have to send the deacon out to start my new Mercedes, because it's cold outside and the motor has to warm up. Then, my driver will take me and my lovely wife to our big house in the hills, where we'll sit in the hot tub and then dry off with chinchilla towels, just before we sit down to a fine steak dinner, wheee! You can tell we're good Christians: we're filthy rich!!


ETA: I would be willing to bet that these two will be censured by Pat or TBN for this only if it fails to bring in a few more truckloads of money, or makes any of the current truckloads disappear. If it brings in money, they'll find some way to either accept it or spin it (and I don't honestly believe anyone in that collective ever says anything on the air that Pat hasn't pre-approved).

And my my my. Larry Huch got his start right here in lil ol Flagstaff Arizona. Fresh off leading a lifetime of drugs and advanced crime, and then he found the blessings that come from leading people to Jesus. Hallelujah.

What amazes me about Larry is how little I could find about him on the Internet that did not seem to be written by himself r his church.

He has some ex followers who really dislike him but they are pretty quiet (later).

After 14 years in Portland OR running a church called 'New Beginnings', he pulled the plug and moved to Dallas Texas. Next thing you know ol larry's a millionare, kinfolk said - Larry move away from there!...

That site has quite an illuminating article on the church back then. I'm not sure what I'd think if my minister spend all my tithe money wining and dining all those pastors, but they must be really nice and caring people.

Here's a sample of an ex member rant:

I remember promises of a holographic image of Moses, greeting people at the front door, waters that parted as you "crossed the red sea, a prayer garden that would be open 24 hours a day. I also remember some pretty scathing sermons disgracing anyone who dared not to pay their tithe. Or how about the "toilet paper isn't free" thing we heard for so many years? What about the 4 million dollars that was pledged to the new building, that he took and invested in the stock market, he lost all that money, and having the audacity (and i was there this wednesday night) he actually admitted that he invested and lost the 4 million dollars and that it was against the law for him to do it, and asked for as many as can do it to give 1000.00 to get the money back in the right account " Because I don't wan't to go to jail" was his reason. What about the board of directors that he replaced, or all the people that have been run off because they voiced their disagreement with him over his use of the pledge money? "Give until it hurts" was a common thing for him to preach on.

Now don't that have the ring of truth to it? I'm sorta interested in all that. Too bad nobody in the Christan churches seem to be. Maybe it is because he brought in so many pastors for all expense paid free seminars. Idle speculation.

This forward looking statement from the 'new' Oregon website has not changed as of 2008. Something really fell down there.
Now, more than 16 years after that first tiny group met, thousands of people have found a new life in Jesus Christ. And those initial humble beginnings have led us to be a church to the nations. New Beginnings in Oregon has obviously not expanded, and Larry has left them behind for new fields.

Sheesh, I don't see how Paula's company is going to make it to 2012. It looks like the balloon debt is going to come home to roost by 2009. Give the congregation a year to act all confused, surprised, and hurt - and then move on to new pastures of ministry.

In 2010 she could just leave town and start up a new shop in hey, maybe Portland Oregon. :|

The 'family curse' Cd's make Larry particularly noxious. He has a high creepiness factor without saying a word.

He took his congregation's missionary fund money and used it to sponsor yearly pastor retreats for 800 down on their luck pastors. Maybe I'm too distant in my religious upbringin' to ever think this is normal, but Christians seem really cool with it.

We'd a called this priestcraft.
Good luck finding anyone willing to speak against this guy, he already owns most of them.
 
False statement in thread heading

The Title of your thread "2 TBN Preachers claim Jesus Christ isn't the son of God" is a false statement. Nowhere do they say that.

When they say Jesus is not the only Begotten Son of God they are just repeating what Jesus basically said Himself when He said in Mark; 3:35

Mark 3:35 -- "For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."

If Jesus is the Son of God and you do the will of God then Jesus is basically saying you are also a son or daughter of God because you are my brother and sister.

Paul the Apostle also explains this in Romans Chapter 8:

Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Is Jesus the son of God?
He is not made from a sperm from God, so for the sake of consistency; he is no more son of God than the Holy Spirit is!
