I know that in the movies and on tv there are sounds accompanied by blinking lights and also not accompainied by them like on Star Trek The origonal series they had a lot of noises and some blinking lights I guess also to show that the computers and the control panels were doing something.

This sounds very woo-wooish. Is there any sense in this?

Be careful to not show this to the woo of your preference, he/she will missinterpret it as the song of souls in some kind of trance. Seriously, this is so beautiful, it brings nice feelings to my heart.
