Perplexed about DNA - Help please?

I have some questions about DNA and was wondering if someone could help me. Apparently DNA is a highly comlex, ordered structure composed of several compounds. Does anyone know approximately how many lines or 'segments' of code exist for something like the most basic, single celled organisms...
