TNT technology (Tissue Nanotransfection)
"By using our novel nanochip technology, injured or compromised organs can be replaced. We have shown that skin is a fertile land where we can grow the elements of any organ that is declining,"
"This is difficult to imagine, but it is achievable...
So, what do you think about the feasibility of this technology? Would our preset patterns of washing clothes keep people from even considering using this? Could you wear these clothes without wondering how clean they really are?
You may be able to use a really small electric motor. Like, a single molecule:

http://news.yahoo.com/weird-light-bending-experiment-turns-scientists-coneheads-132404788.html
"In a mind-bending, and light-bending, discovery, scientists have produced a fun-house-like warping of light that defies existing laws of physics."
It seems so to me, but I'm no physicist. I don't...
http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Mexican-terrorists-target-nanotech-researchers-2138343.php
Their manifesto says they fear nanorobots will infiltrate human beings, turning them into "nanocyborgs."
What are the ethical implications of future technology? We already have some of these "future" technologies, but they are still in their infancy. I'm talking about 3 areas in particular, nanotechnology, biotechnology and quantum computing and the various ways these can be used together in the...
Due to recent events and me wanting to eventually touch base w/individuals on the subjects of our new technologies; I finally decided to start my nano technology thread.
Nanotechnology covers pretty much every thing you can think of from new raw materials from old raw materials, new computer...
Another interesting article in the March 2009 issue of Scientific American details the work of Alex Zettl and his collegues' creating of a radio made from a single carbon nanotube.
What is most amazing is that a single carbon nanotube can perform all 4 of the basic functions of a radio...
I have been reading over the past few years about the integration of nanotechnologies and solar power. Also, there is a company, NanoSolar, claiming they can produce energy at a cheaper cost than that of coal.
Is it true?
How soon before all warm-weather states' roofs are covered with this stuff?
The results of this study are depressing:
I have a hunch most of the respondents didn't really know what nanotechnology. But us religiously besotted USAians really come off looking bad. Europe is better but still the percentages are low.
I have gotten really interested in nanotechnology lately, namely because I think it is the most viable way we might be able to increase our lifespans to near indefinite lengths (which implies much improved healing ability as well).
Anyone into this topic? What is the current state of...
I'm still pretty new and don't know if this has been discussed here but here goes:
Have you ever heard of this emergent self-diagnosed skin disease called Morgellons ? Acccording to the Morgellons Research Foundation, here are the symptoms:
1- Skin lesions, both (a) spontaneously appearing and...

Can someone explain what is a 'molecular force' and how does it differ to say a force I excert with my strength or the force produced from driving a car at 60kph.
Thanking you.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- From toothpaste to trousers, dozens of everyday products contain materials made through the blossoming science of nanotechnology -- but laws safeguarding the public's health and safety aren't developing nearly as quickly, according to a new report.
Few will say whether the...
Apologies if this has already been posted, I didn't see it:

Sounds pretty amazing.
Here's another article which projects that this will take 5 years for an all-types-of-cancer cure.

I was reading a recent issue of Time magazine in my doctors office, and there's a heckuva lot of amazing (and mostly legitimate) things being done these days with nanotechnology. Much of it (as I understand it) relies on how the properties of material change at quantum levels. In example, I was...
Nice article on nanotechnology in this weeks Business Week:
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/05_07/b3920001_mz001.htm
Mostly concerned with investment prospects for the field, but
it does give a nice overview of the current state of the technology.
CowboyNeal, one of the editors of Slashdot, posted the following story as fact:
Nanotech brings battery life extender for Mobile Phones
As annoying as Slashdot can be most of the time, I was happy to see that the commentary was uniformly negative, and that many commenters criticized...
Nanotechnology is next big thing in electronics and manufacturing
By Jennifer Bails
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Friday, January 21, 2005
The next big thing could come in the smallest package imaginable -- so tiny, in fact, it is invisible to the naked eye.
Nanotechnology is the science of working with...
Following the recent criticism of Prince Charles' promotion of alternative therepies by Professor Baum (give that man a medal! - in case anyone hasn't found it yet, the prof's original letter can be seen at http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/329/7457/118?ehom), it's interesting to see...
Despite what some people will try to sell you, I'd have to say there is no such thing as man made "nanotechnology".
It's a convientment and buzzy word to get more funding towards what are pretty what are somewhat broad established paths in fields like molecular biology, chemistry, physics...
I'm rather interested in the actual real-world science of nanotechnology, and was wondering what kinds of base knowledge are required to understand the field much, if at all. IE, mechanical engineering and its related maths and sciences, certain fields of physics, etc?
Similarly, anyone know...
