SOmebody wrote this really scary 'Reality Horror' story. It's about some truly scary incidents with cockroaches (covered upby Indonesian military) in the aftermath of the 2005 tsunami. It's heavily backed with facts and all that. More convincing than Michael crichton.

I had attended the Skeptics Society's "The Environmental Wars" conference. Overall, it was an excellent experience: Where it was informative it was very informative, and where it was entertaining it was very entertaining.
With one exception: Michael Crichton.

I read the speech "Enviromentalism as a religion" by Michael Crichton (http://www.crichton-official.com/speeches/speeches_quote05.html) and I agree almos completely. The only fact that I haven't been able to verify is this :

Hmm, I see a laudatory post about Crichton and his speech. Perhaps I should post the article on "Spoon Bending" which quotes Crichton as being a "believer" in the phenomena.
I sent this to Randi last week, from front page article in the Silicon Valley "Metro". Quotes Randi extensively also...
Not sure where I should have put this, but it touches on so many good points about things that fall into the realm of this forum I stuck it here.
It's a speech by Michael Crichton that applies to a lot of BS beliefs in general. A good read.
