    Maximum resolution in Ubuntu?

    I've been playing around with various linux distro's recently, but I always seem to have a problem that the resolution can't be set any higher than 1024x768. With Windows, I have my resolution at 1280x1024, so the lower resolution looks really strange. Any suggestions? Specifically in Ubuntu...
