Scientists Believe These Photos Show Mushrooms on Mars—and Proof of Life

Most IMPORTANT NEWS of the millennium or . . . ???
I wonder if they sauté well?
First, a disclaimer: I do not actually think that there are zombies presently on Mars.
But, if there were zombies, could they exist on Mars? I mean, if zombies are already dead, do they still need air, water and food? If they don't need these, then zombies could exist on Mars.
I think we need...
With apologies to Arthur C. Clarke!
NASA's Perseverance rover is due to touch down on Mars on Feb 18th 2021. It is fitted with a couple of microphones. You'll be able to listen to the sounds from the Red Planet assuming it gets there in one piece. I suppose if it crashes that might make an...
I recently watched ep 2 of the National Geographic miniseries 'Mars', and one of the major plot points was the danger posed to the astronauts by the cold temperatures of the planet, especially at night. It's common in popular media to portray Mars being a dangerously cold place, and the numbers...
ESA's ExoMars lander was supposed to touch down minutes ago. So far, it doesn't sound good. I think there is a ~10 minute delay and it has been well over that time. The control room doesn't look terribly happy. :(

Help Wanted: Astronauts Needed for Mars Colony (Wired)
I think I'll pass. Of course they wouldn't choose me anyway.
I imagine they'll have plenty of volunteers though.
Folks, I am very sorry to report that this thread has been lost. However, thanks to RoseMontague and Google we do have a cached version of the thread.
Below is the original OP, as posted by Puppycow on 31 JUL 2012:
This guy claims he went to Mars last year.
It isn't even convincing as science fiction. I immediately spotted several big flaws in his story (like how nobody noticed the launch or spotted them toodling around on the Martian surface) besides the usual conspiracy-fail of "I'm in hiding and in...

I'm skeptical, but it is an interesting possibility.
The Mars rover Curiosity was successfully launched today and is on it's way to mars. It will be the largest rover ever put on Mars and has a nuclear battery which is expected to last 14 years, so it won't be dependent on the sun for power. Expected landing is August 5, 2012...
On December 6th some observers will have an opportunity to spot the New Moon while it is little more than a day old at the same time it is occulting Mars. The Dark Moon will be in geocentric longitudinal conjunction with the Sun on 2010 DEC 05 at 17:36 UT (11:36 CST). Mercury will serve as a...
The atmospheric pressure of mars is much lower than that of earth.
Is it so much lower that it would instantly kill a human outside without a space suit, such as the famous scene from the movie 'Total Recall'?
Would it be possible to stand on mars with nothing but an oxygen tank and mask? To...
So a friend brought up the topic of terraforming Mars to make it hospitable for all manner of life. I'd never heard of the idea, but I dismissed it because I figured it'd simply be too cold. Turns out, there's quite a bit of research that's been done on it. Here's the wiki, and another...
I've read two different theories as to whether life is on mars or not. All the chemicals are there that are essential to life and Mars once had water on its surface. However this water was very saline and some scientists say that just as salt in high concentrations prevent meat from rotting so...
Buzz was on Newsnight a few days ago, talking about the moon, and the exploration of space.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/8131880.stm
Time and again, space exploration comes up against the same argument: 'Why should we spend so much on space when we don't spend nearly enough...
"UFO spotters are claiming they have spotted an alien skull on Mars after NASA beamed back satellite images from the planet.
[...]
An oddly shaped space boulder appears to show eye sockets and a nose leading to speculation it might be a Martian skull."...
Let's say the next Mars rover confirms biological life is on the red planet. That is, DNA based life forms, similar to ourselves. What is the likelihood that 2 adjacent planets evolved DNA based life forms? It is one thing to speculate over the entire universe, but adjacent planets? The odds...
The Phoenix mission, which discovered indisputable proof of water on Mars, went quiet and the mission has been ended by NASA. It was facing declining power output in the Martian winter when a dust storm apparently covered up enough of the solar cells' capacity to send it below the likely...

Take your pick:
Martian fungus?
The BLOB?
Martian bacteria?
Black oil?
Armus?
No, reasonable close-minded explanations such as salt, mud, etc. will not be accepted.
The landing site seems to be a good place to look for water and I find the rings in the side of the cliff below the landing site interesting and there is an anomaly to the right and down a way from the landing site, on the right side that looks like a cylinder. It’s on or near one of the rings...
So the Washington Post blares the latest headline: "Mars Photos Appear to Show Dry Hot Springs", the starts off with a bang in the first paragraph:
"The long and frustrating search for signs of past or present life on Mars took a hopeful turn this month when scientists said they had spotted...
He's already got 2 bids pending --- meaning he's considering their offers. Since what he's asking is astronomical (pun intended) I can only imagine what they must have offered.
Item listing.
Here's some other nonsense he's peddling.
