Apparently, the Gonzales no confidence vote required 60 votes to be brought to the floor for a vote.
Seven Republicans voted to bring the vote to the floor together with all the Democrats except Lieberman.

Yes, that's my prediction. Probably wrong, but I'll put it out there.
I think that Cheney planned all along to put Lieberman in the job as soon as possible after he was re-elected, so that they could flip his seat Republican. I also think that Lieberman was in on it.
It pains me to agree with Joe Lieberman on anything, but based on what I know about his position on Iraq I have to agree with him. Iraq is a royal mess, no doubt about it, and Dubya should never have gone there in the first place because it destabilized the whole region. (Look what wonders...

If he does, it will not be as a dem, not as a rep, only as a ind.
It would mean a sure-fire win for either him (10%) or whoever runs as rep.
I gotta tell you that the rep candidate would have to be pretty damn strong to keep me...
