    Jane Harman’s father was a Nazi refugee. Her father Dr. Adolph N. Lakes was born in Poland moved to Germany and graduated from medical school in 1935. Then he and his wife came to the United States. How can this be? I thought Jews were an oppressed minority in Germany during this period.
