Behavior like this does not help victims of racism, every provable case of fakery makes it that much harder for the real victims to prove their case.

Black high school student, 12, who accused three of her male white classmates of pinning her down and cutting off her dreadlocks, admits that she made it up

All I have to say on this, is that from the sounds of it, the guy did a hell of a lot of good. But if the police are able to prove their case, it's going to cause a lot of damage...
Racist incidents reported at Oberlin College
I am extremely skeptical about these claims of racism at Oberlin. I think they were all faked by some radical black group on campus. We have all see these types of claims in the past only to be proven a hoax.
They are nothing but commie liberals...
Recent investigation into "200+" possible bigfoot tracks near Elbe, WA has been conducted. The initial report of the trackway was made to Cliff Barackman, then to the BFRO by e-mail.
Initially it seemed the BF researchers were excited about the possibility these tracks were authentically BF...
It seems like most hoaxes collapse quickly under the weight of their own fantastic claims, typically even sooner when multiple conspirators are involved. Someone usually cracks under pressure, or just can't keep quiet. I'm researching a 1980 UFO multiple witness case, which skeptics Phil Klass...
I am a great Law and Order: Criminal Intent fan, which has absolutely nothing to do with Vincent D’Onofrio. Nothing. An episode from the first season began to really interest me, and since most of their plots are ripped from the headlines, I went to TV.com to take a look. Sure enough, it seems...
OK, so I don't know if this has been posted in a thread at JREF recently (it was posted on YT last year. My poor skills at utilizing the search function at JREF probably don't help, so if it's been discussed and you know where, kindly drop the link to the thread).

This is a repost from the Bigfoot: Anybody Seen One? Thread that deserves its own discussion. I have posted about Studiodrome before back in 2008, but never in as much detail as here...
And a pretty good jumper, as well. That is a different cut of a hoax I've linked here countless times. Let...
There is a building in Conyers that pre dates the American civil war. Its a square brick two story building that has been many things during its existence. It used to be a coal storage warehouse for the railroad. While I've been living in this town it was for many years a antique shop...
I don't know who is more stupid here, the art gallery that agreed to exhibit and sell the "works of art" even when they found out the artist was two, or the parents who think she has artistic talent.

This is just a ‘flying visit’ for now everyone, but as it really concerns a ‘new revelation’ about the so-called Highgate ‘vampire’ case, I thought it would be relevant here. This is not a new “revelation” as such; but I have finally decided to make public my views on a case of ‘vampirism’ that...
Source.
All I am wondering was how gullible are people to believe such a ridiculous story in the first place? I've never heard of this book before today, has anyone here read it?
This is an interesting example of how you sometimes get very different versions of a story from different sources.
Pretty much everybody agrees on the basic facts: A group of teachers from Scales Elementary School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, staged a fake gun attack on their students during a...
I stumbled across this story today. It appears that Joyce Hatto (1928 - 2006), a classical pianist who produced, in her last cancer-ridden years, an astounding output of critically acclaimed (though not without skepticism) recordings, may not have actually played on them.
Gramophone Article...
I'm trying to compile a list of woo claims regarding audio & video quality. I'm interested only in hoaxes that have been promoted by well-known critics and/or magazines. If you can remember something off the top of your head please post it here.
Reading the thread about the Cardiff Giant reminded me of a similar scam that I had all but forgotten:
The Minnesota Iceman
I saw this attraction at our local annual fair (The Red River Exhibition) back in the 60s & 70s (yes, I paid to see it more than once). I remember seeing something about...
