I know the data is pretty clear that glucosamine and chondroitin don't really help human arthritis in placebo-controlled studies, but I hear persistent rumors that it works for dogs. This topic was broached a few years ago on this forum, but the thread seemed to die without any links to solid...
One of my dogs has just been diagnosed with spondylosis of the cervical vertebrae. He also has some spondylosis of the lumbar region, minor arthritis of the hips and elbows, and minor calcification of the lungs. He is five years old.
