fleas

Is it true that cat fleas will not transfer to humans? I have a friend whose cat has contracted fleas. She was pregnant at the time, and there was a question of fleas treatments harming the kittens. Now she has had the kittens, four healthy, and one who died(five total), and it just tears me up...

Spurred by a FC thread on fleas, I remembered a National Geographic article but don't think fleas were mentioned being exposed to quite 140 g's, which sounds really high. I find this quite amazing ....... and wonder if anyone cares to further comment...
