    Friendships destroyed by drugs

I had a childhood friend who apparently got hooked on PCP and pot during his eight year stay in the army. When he got back from Vietnam I tried to resume the friendship. It didn't work. He was so high on this PCP of his that it made me physically sick to hear the sound of his voice. Ok so I...

Americans are world's top drug users

I'm not sure how much stock I'd put into such a study, but I find it funny nonetheless. It's almost like the War on Drugs isn't working at all. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080701160706.4pl3ba3e&show_article=1

Will Cindy McCain's Stealing and Illegal Drug Use Scuttle her Husband's Candidacy?

Is the fact that John McCain's wife is a thief who stole from a charity going to be a liability for his candidacy? Is the fact that he broke his marital vows and walked out on his first wife and kids for a much younger woman when she became crippled in a car accident going to be a problem? I...

The War On Drugs; Keeping UP

Working in campus law enforcement, we don't see much of the War On Drugs. Our kids seem to favor alcohol as their drug of choice, with occasional forays into grass, "shrooms", and LSD. Nonetheless, we get our weekly information bulletins from an area-wide law-enforcement information sharing...

Ecstasy is a superior and safer party drug than Alcohol!

This is something I wrote about a year ago for a project of mine: Thoughts on the legality of Ecstasy… In the UK Ecstasy is a class-A drug and in the US it is a Schedule 1 drug. This means that it is totally illegal to manufacture, sell or take Ecstasy in either country. Although this is the...

Drug Laws Have No Relation to Science

A study done a short time ago, and recently published in The Lancet, demonstrates just how out of touch with reality drug prohibition laws are in the US and UK. Study Finds Alcohol and Tobacco More Harmful than Marijuana, LSD, or Ecstasy (Revisited) Excerpt: Still, drug classification has...

    Peter Jenning reports- Ecstasy Rising

My impression from watching, is to be very skeptical of any government claim about drugs. It's probably a lie. Here is the show- http://pot.tv/ram/pottvshowse2610.ram http://pot.tv/archive/shows/pottvshowse-2610.html

Pothead Bush loves the wacky weed.

Bush has got the munchies President Bush was concerned "his mistakes as a youth" would disqualify him from running for the nation's highest office, said an old friend who secretly recorded private conversations in which Bush appears to acknowledge past drug use. "I don't want any kid doing...

    Secret Bush Tapes

In reading this story, I have considerably more respect for Bush than before. I may not LIKE him any better, but it's interesting to see how his mind works. White House - AP NEW YORK - Private conversations with George Bush secretly taped by an old friend before he was elected president...

Survey: Ecstasy Use by Teens on Decline

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,112522,00.html ...full article I doubt this has to with an anti-drug trend and more to do with availability. 3 years ago there was an abundance of (relatively) cheap and good X, today there's sh!t. In fact, I havent come across X in the market for a while.

    Buddhism and drugs

Can anyone enlighten me about whether the Buddha had anything to say about using mind-altering drugs such as alcohol or marijuana? Is there any evidence that he used marijuana himself (more likely than alcohol I suspect)?
