Two questions, actually:
(1) Sure, the universe's expanding. But then we're part of that expansion, right? That is, our bodies too are expanding, aren't they? The distances/space between our cells, and therefore the size of our bodies, and also the size of our telescopes and whatnot? Does...
If uniformly expanding space stretches light then it should stretch it uniformly (equally in all directions). The overall shape of a uniformly stretched light wave would remain essentially the same but larger. As it wouldn’t actually be stretched as a shape, how can it be redshifted?
ETA - If...
If the speed of light is constant, regardless of whether it is being emitted from an object that is moving toward or away from an observer, I don‘t see how motion can have a Doppler effect on light as in the expanding universe theory. In other words, how can something that is not effected by...
I was looking for doppler radar sites and I can find plenty, but none of the ones I've found provide one important piece of data that doppler radar was designed to show: wind direction. Sites usually color code the reflections to show rain intensity (granted, a very useful bit of info) but none...
