My God!
"No Inferno thread yet?", thought the six foot one, tattoo-less man as he browsed the esoteric vaults of the JREF forums. Maybe they're better than that.
Or maybe not.
Hi Jrefers! :)
I've been thinking about this after watching an interview with the above mentioned author on his newest work, "The Lost Symbol".
I have to say here, that I haven't read it, nor am I really planning to.
I've only read "Angels and Demons", back then I was a kid, so I'm not quite...
The thread title is eponymous to the movie based on an idea similar to the M. Night Shyamalan film The Sixth Sense -- an idea based on exploring all the possibilities of afterlife. The prevalence of dichotomous views riding on rationality prevents other options that concern some cases of...
The 44-year-old forum poster glanced at his perfectly ordinary wristwatch, which had not been chosen to imbue him with some resemblance of personality.
My God!
He realized that he had just wasted countless hours reading Dan Brown’s new book, The Lost Symbol. He lifted his untoned...
Okay, confession. I haven't read any of his books but I have seen both movies to date and really liked them both. However I see an awful lot of animus on here towards both the books and the films and I can't help wondering if this might be hate for one bleeding over into the other. If so, what...
"The Lost Symbol" released - did we dodge conspiracy hysteria? To soon to judge?
So I've been following the media frenzy up to Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol" to see if the media would embrace the conspiracy lunacy to get the ratings. The general publics failure to grasp that the DaVinci code was...

By Rolf Lindgren, Defender of Galileo
Tomorrow, Friday, May 15, Ron Howard’s new movie Angels & Demons will appear, starring Tom Hanks. This movie follows up Howard’s previous film Da Vinci Code, both based on novels by Dan...
I have seen several threads where people have slated Dan Brown. He writes fiction but the fiction gets attacked but this does not seem to stem from the quality of the writing alone. What gives?
Duh.
They could only win if they were to admit that their book was fiction. But they don't do that - they claim it is real history.
Dan Brown can take any historian's account of any event and write as many works of fiction as he pleases. Regardless of how sloppy the historians are.
Well, both books have the same premise, one is presented as a work of fiction, the other as the product of (ahem!) serious reseach. Can you copyright dubious historical theories?

and from my favourite comic...
Why does Dan Brown write in the forward to his books how pretty much everything presented in his novels are factual and accurate (when clearly they are not) and other authors of popular fiction like John Grisham will state how they had to make up stuff (change laws, places, etc) to suit the...
