    Laptops without CD-ROM drives?

    I'm currently looking to get a refurbished cheap laptop (but not too cheap), when I suddenly realized that the page of laps I'm looking at include "No CD-ROM drive" in the descriptions. WTF? What use is it to your average consumer that a laptop comes with no CD-ROM drive? Just about every way...
