Understanding the Liberal Mindset

It's not a minor advantage at all. It is a significant advantage.
I think the only evidence that even suggests that is, if you compare the average of all white people to the average of all black people. If you actually look at different groups within those large categories, the difference isn't somewhat between white people an black people but between certain groups of white people and most everyone else.

Even if you compare white people on average to some non-black minorities that privilege seems significantly less significant. Both suggest to me that that its a pretty broad generalization that doesn't really hold much predictive value.

Regardless, pretty clear I don't understand the progressive mindset.

Developed world. "First world" is an outdated and mildly racist holdover from the Cold War and is undescriptive of the current state of global geopolitics.
I agree but I'm not sure developing fixes the problem, its at least a better description but it is a bit broad. The developing world is basically everyone outside the G8..G20 whatever the group of riches is called these days.

Everyone forgets the seond world, The Warsaw Pact. I'm not sure if China was part of the second world though.

you don’t understand it or you don’t agree with what they think?

i think those are two different things. i can understand why progressives come to their conclusions even if i don’t come to the same ones

Based on the response from folks in this thread, I don't understand it. I didn't mean to piss people off but I did, suggests a lack of understanding on my part. If they aren't pissed off, still suggests a lack of understanding on my part.

i don’t really think you said anything that should have pissed anyone off. but i think progressives are collectively having kind of a rough day.

anyway i think the progressive mindset does deeper than arguing the issues. it’s what they think, not why they think it.

Two things I've learned about the liberal mindset, three things I know now that I didn't before.

Dictators are bad, unless they're pseudo-commie scumbags lairing in the western hemisphere.

Oil is bad, unless it's under Moscow's aegis.

One must never repudiate another liberal's mindset, no matter how unhinged, toxic, or illiberal it is.

Or, as the Babylon Bee observed:

More made-up stuff. I love it.

Even more made-up stuff. It's all you guys got.

You know that's parody, right?
I'm pretty sure jt512 knows its parody.

Well, I don't know about anybody else, but I'm not pissed off.

Anyone who makes a post like that is ok in my book.

One thing I’ve learned about the conservative mindset is that, much like medical science and age of consent laws, they struggle to grasp satire.

Having a liberal/progressive mindset, the only problem I have with free speech is when someone uses it to pretend that their opinions are facts.

When that happens, I use my free speech to call them on it.

If they can prove their opinion is a fact, then I will admit I'm wrong.

That's the kind of liberal/progressive mindset I have.

ETA: I don't consider whataboutism as proof. It's merely a tactic that's used to divert from answering a question they can't or won't answer.

In this forum, it's usually called, "Look! A squirrel!!" or just shortened to, "Squirrel!!!"

Maga weirdoes do that all the time in the MSN and Fox Entertainment forums.

I suspect we'll have a few pages of someone failing to understand this one after multiple explanations.

That's what I said about the word sycophant. Maga weirdoes are too stupid to understand what it means, and that's why I use it instead of worshippers.

It's fun to confuse them and easy to do too.

The liberal mindset, everyone. Pretending erudition to set oneself up as a superior specimen, through ersatz "reasoning" that barely qualifies as such.
