Trump's Second Term

JD Vance perfectly sums up how Christianity produces great men:

"Tyler Robinson is everything the far left wants from our young men. He rejected the conservatism, spiritually, and values of a small town family. He moved into a small apartment, he became addicted to porn, he became addicted to hate, and he slept with someone who doesn't know if they're a man or a woman."

"The fruits of true Christianity are good husbands, patient fathers, builders of great things, and slayers of dragons. And men who are willing to die for a principle if that's what God asked them to do... It's better to die a patriot than live a coward."

Christianity rejected him. Unless you fit their narrow definitions of human behaviour you are not acceptable. Human sexuality is varied across a spectrum. They insist on compliance to a simplistic definition from the Bronze Age.

If he felt his family could have accepted him for who he was that awful murder would have probably never happened.

Instead they rail against an educated "elite" that has tried to understand the complexity of human behaviour.

Raise your drug prices or else.

Trump:

I spoke to a very good man, Macron of France.

Then I said, “Emmanuel, you have to raise your drug prices.”

He said “no, no, no.”

I said, you have to. If you don’t do it, I’m going to put a 25 percent tariff on everything France sells into the United States of America

There is no limit to Trump's narcissism:

Even the name "Golden Fleet" reflects his obsession with gold. Will the "Trump-class" ships have gilded hulls or just gilded medallions attached to the outside of the hull? You just know he wants one named the "USS Trump".
Guess how many navies have active battleships?

None, that's how many. Because with the advent of aircraft carriers and, later, missiles battleships are white elephants with no purpose in sea combat. Even their little brothers the battlecruisers are only in (paper) service with Ruzzia and then only to compenstate for Putain's lack of self worth.

It's not an old fashioned gun battleship.

In itself it's not a completely bad idea.

A battlegroup built around a command ship with long range missiles and a large AA fit is a valid idea.
Making it nuclear powered gives it extended duration like the carriers it would work with.

Maybe Battlecruiser might be a better name for it but using battleship is valid.

We know these particular ships will never be built and the Navy has no intention of building them in this form.

How about land battleships? I can imagine a design about a thousand tonnes with 11" guns, and maybe we could call it the "Landcruser1000" because we'd want to reference the weight in the name.

I'm sure that would intimidate all America's enemies.
I see what you did there. You could combine it with a description of your avatar for extra meaning.

The question is probably if you gave the navy the budget would they spend it on this? The trick will be finding someone who can freely answer that question.

My older brother works at the Navy shipyard in Norfolk. From how he's talked about the shipbuilding process, if they started building one of these today, a not insignificant number of posters here would have a good chance of dying of old age before it was done.
(Although a lot of the delays he's talked about have been on aircraft carriers.)

Hey Louisiana, I’m not going anywhere!

As a Cajun, my family and families like mine have lived under more flags than anyone in the continental US.

There is no better flag for freedom and opportunity than the flag of the United States. I look forward to sharing that message with the people of Greenland.

Excited to work alongside President @realDonaldTrump and @SecRubio!

The future Trump Class Battleship USS DEFIANT will be the largest, deadliest, most versatile, and best-looking warship anywhere on the world’s oceans. I want to thank @POTUS for his vision to make this game-changing capability a reality for America’s Navy.

The Soviets tried for the same concept in the 80s; they were a bit of a white elephant, more to push the Soviet navy Stronk line than to pursue a genuinely effective strategy.

I would say there's nothing about these ships that cant already be done better by ships alread in service, plus they've got wasteful vapourware like mag-rails tacked on.

I guess they can make some 3D models to appease him with until he dies of old age or forgets about the whole thing.
