Where Are the "Skeptics" in This "International Skeptics Forum"?

From what I've seen, this forum has precious few "skeptics." The majority of the regular posters seem devoid of skepticism on a wide range of issues. They seem to accept just about every tale the government gives us, from the Warren Commission's discredited lone-gunman theory of JFK's murder to the NTSB's cockamamie tale that TWA Flight 700 blew up because of a fuel-tank spark to the now-debunked CDC/Fauci claims about the need for masking and draconian shutdowns in response to COVID, to the CDC's now-hotly disputed claims about COVID vaccine safety, etc., etc. Where is the "skepticism"? Is there a major government claim that most people in this forum do not accept?

It's curious that when it comes to the JFK assassination, most of the posters here swallow the Warren Commission's tales but reject the far more thorough findings of the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) because the HSCA concluded that two gunmen were involved, that at least four shots were fired, that Jack Ruby had significant Mafia ties, that Ruby lied about how he entered the police department basement to shoot Oswald, that someone was impersonating Oswald in Mexico City weeks before the assassination, etc., etc.

Yes - that Trump and Musk are good for America.

I think you have confused "skepticism" for "credulously believing idiotic conspiracy theories". If you want to find one of those communities, you can leave here and visit the Info Wars forum.

Which government are you talking about? That of Burkina Faso? Nauru? Bhutan, perhaps. Finland?
How are these governments co-ordinating their messaging about these random things? How are they sending me messages? How do you know that I believe every word that comes from these diverse yet somehow unified sources? Should I reject the government of Nauru's phosphate mining statistics because they come from the government, or is it just when those messages contradict long-debunked conspiracy theories that I should reject them?

Dang, pseudo-science never gets a decent break!

But I'll agree that examination of base assumptions and of the cultural baggage included in any worldview is hardly given its due attention.

Currently, it is allowing a few on ISF to carry on counter-factually based on false ancient and contemporary historical narratives regarding a certain region of the planet, and to do so while flying at top speed smack into immovable, incontestable facts, bless their hard heads.

And some of us aren't Merkinanians and thus give very few stuffs about any of that lot, as they are of no relevance to us. So, your "most posters" comment is not that accurate.

So your conspiracy theory is that people here only reject long-debunked conspiracy theories because the government (the US government presumably) assures them they're not true.

And I imagine your slam dunk evidence of this meek acceptance will consist of noting there are absolutely no threads discussing e.g. the evidence about JFK's assassination, over years and years and years. Is that right?

Now that this is in its proper place.

I assume you meant TWA 800. I know of no issue with TWA 700. In any case you whining about the NTSB's conclusion does not make it invalid. People have been coming up with crazy stuff about the explosion for years and falling for nonsense left and right. The term Salinger Syndrome came about for a while because of the tripe people bought into.

to the now-debunked CDC/Fauci claims about the need for masking and draconian shutdowns in response to COVID,

Masking works. Simple as that. You have no idea what Draconian shutdowns are if you thought we had draconian shutdowns in this country.

to the CDC's now-hotly disputed claims about COVID vaccine safety,

"Hotly disputed" by anti-vaxx nutjobs who are already on record saying the majority of use would be dead by this time. Not impressed.

etc., etc. Where is the "skepticism"? Is there a major government claim that most people in this forum do not accept?

"DOGE is saving us hundreds of billions". Start there.

We have an entire, long running thread on JFK right here on the Conspiracy forum but

you faceplant every time you do. Suffice it to say: Pretty much everything you said up there was wrong.

I don't accept that communism can't work.

Is that the type of thing you were looking for?
