A 32- or 33-year-old man named Justin Mohn has been arrested for beheading his own father and posting a YouTube video of himself holding up the head.

Unhinged Justin Mohn who ‘decapitated his father and paraded his head’ in disturbing YouTube video was debt-ridden QAnon conspiracy theorist who wrote books including 'The Second Messiah' that he claimed is 'loosely based on him' (The Daily Mail)
In a 14-minute YouTube video, the deranged son ranted about the federal government for 'woke mobs', migrants who have ruined the United States, and the hated 'globalists and communists' before holding up the severed head.
Records show that Mohn moved back home to live in his parents $390,000 home with his brother Zachary, 35, and his sister Stephanie, 38 - having been fired from a job in Colorado for kicking open an office door.

He graduated from Penn State in business management in 2014, but struggled to hold down any job in the decade since.

Instead he has self-published eight books which claim to 'only wish to bring positive change to the world', including 'The Second Messiah', which he said is 'loosely based on him.'

He wrote and produced a number of Spotify songs about his debt, his struggles as a white man and that fact that his dad was jealous of him and wouldn't let him succeed.
These poor parents had not just one but three kids in their 30s still living at home?
He blames his troubles in holding down a job on being a white man, but it sounds like he was fired for cause from each and every job opportunity he had. He also has delusions of grandeur and a messiah complex. He has self-published 8 books and written music for Spotify:
There are a number of songs on Spotify which are produced and performed by Mohn, including 'They Came For Justin Mohn,' 'I Miss Lauren,' and 'Judge Kathy Toilet.'
In one song, he complained about the debts he owed and stated that authorities wanted him to die.
It went: 'This is a woman's world. Empowering only girls. Step on all the men. Kill the cock and praise the hen.'
On a collection of 2019 songs called 'Justin's Stalkers,' Mohn had a song called 'Mommunist the Communist' where he complained about living at home and his mother telling him to pay off his debt.He also sang that his dad was jealous of him and wouldn't let him succeed.
'I am now officially the acting president of America under martial law,' was another of his beliefs, alongside the fact that both the Democratic and Republican parties thought he would have been the best 2020 Presidential candidate.

QAnon believer accused of beheading federal worker dad smirks in new mugshot as it’s revealed he waged legal war with government over student loans (New York Post)
The QAnon believer who allegedly decapitated his dad, showing off the federal employee’s severed head in an online video, had earlier waged an unhinged legal battle against the government over his student loans — claiming he should have been warned he still wouldn’t be able to get a job because he was an “overeducated white man.”

Justin Mohn, 33, was seen smirking in a mugshot after he was taken into custody Tuesday night on suspicion of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and possessing an instrument of crime with intent in the killing of his 68-year-old father, Michael Mohn.
Mohn had previously filed at least three lawsuits against federal agencies, including the US government, over his student loan debts, online records show.
In one, he claimed that the government “negligently and fraudulently” pushed him to take out student loans between 2010 and 2014 to pay for his education at Penn State University, a court filing shows.
After graduating in 2014 with a degree in agribusiness management, Mohn was “unable to secure a job commensurate with his education or sufficient to enable him to maintain his student loan payments.”
Mohn chalked up his lack of employment to employers’ “perception of him as an overeducated, white male, which led to affirmative action against him whilst providing no benefits,” his appeal of the case claims.

One irony is that while he ranted against the Biden administration, is that Biden has tried to forgive student debt for people with large student debts that they are unable to repay. He was overruled by conservatives on the Supreme Court. He can thank conservatives for his student debt, but he blames liberals and everyone but himself.

You're setting your bar that low and still tripping over it.

Sorry, but I don't believe I've seen you ever wagging your finger at right-wingers for doing the same thing.

Maybe instead of "insane right-winger" I should have said "mainstream Republican":

“Some outlets in the U.S. might have a vested interest in trying to relegate that violence [to QAnon] because they might fall in line with those conspiracy theories that motivate violence,” Mendela said, “like the Great Replacement.”

“I don’t think it’s a coincidence,” Rothschild said in his email. “Their readers don’t want to think this guy is someone like them, they want him to be one of those people who think lizards run the world and Hillary Clinton eats babies at dinner with JFK Jr. And the reality is that the Pennsylvania killer’s belief system wasn’t that far off the beaten path from many other right-wing media consumers.”

"Not far off the beaten path from many other right-wing media consumers."

Well.

Yeah, probably a little unfair to make this about the guy being a right winger, but totally fair to point out that the right wing media ecosystem weaponized his mental illness. His grievances read like Fox News chyrons.

i don't think it's unfair, seems to be a primary motive and maybe his entire personality. there's really not a whole lot else to discuss about this if not for conservative media's indifference to the consequences of their propaganda and rage bait on the mentally ill people they're targeting.

Insanity should preclude partisan poop flinging, but here you are.
I disagree.

When politicial leaders use over-the-top violent rhetoric, going so far as to specifically encourage violence, that quite predictably encourages followers to be violent. Insane followers are quite predictably the most likely to act.

Imagine someone tossing a lit match in the direction of a can of gas, and then blaming the gas when it ignites.

It does become the same, in my mind, to shouting "fire" in the theatre. Speech is an action and like all actions can have consequences, politicians with a public platform should be held responsible for what they say.

Some of his efforts sound like a bad attempts at humor to me, but maybe that's just Poe. I wouldn't be so quick to claim insanity was a factor. While yes, sane people don't generally behead their close family members, it's also quite possible it involved some sort of intoxication.

But yeah, I'd have to have more details before I assumed insanity.

Yes he is mentally ill. And yes the mainstream right wing politicians and media cultivate that insanity. It's why you see so much more right wing terrorism than left wing terrorism as the former thread started by me and the latter thread started by theprestige showed.

What, like this?

For all you know, she's a Jew hating neo nazi who was inspired by "Proud Boys, stand back and stand by". Sure that's highly unlikely. But it's best we know her motivations before jumping to conclusions.

There's another factor that makes this a lousy counter example. I'm unaware of political leaders on the left encouraging followers to take violent action, quite unlike political leaders on the right.

So all the "from the river to the sea" protests are organized by right-wingers?

This has nothing to do with the point I made.

If you think that poltical volence is limited to only one side of the political spectrum, you live in a bubble.

Why do you have so many pictures of bushfires? Do they mean something to your point?

Then again, don't bother answering. It will be yet another failed ****-stir. I've given up bothering what you say now.

Why do you have so many pictures of bushfires?

I recognized a few of those as photos not of bushfires but of the violent left wing mobs that ran wild throughout the cities of the US throughout 2020. My favorite is the one near the center where the guy (yet another violent left wing thing) mistakenly light his own feet on fire. Hilarious!

Oh you mean like this guy?

Sorry, that was actually a right winger who set a police station on fire then shot it up during the protests.

Or these two?

Damn, those are far-right terrorists who were doing the same thing.

It's so hard keeping them all straight seeing as how political violence is so accepted by the mainstream right wing these days. We just forget that they are the overwhelming source of it the same way we forget about car accidents and school shootings.
